DEATH VALLEY GIRLS
De band heeft een voorliefde voor B-movies en occulte film klassiekers en dat hoor je goed terug in de psychotische rock van deze band. Joan Jett, X Ray Spex, James Chance behoren tot hun inspiratiebronnen maar ook The Stooges, ZZ Top en Black Sabbath zijn nooit ver weg.

Deze uit Los Angeles afkomstige band werd in 2013 opgericht door frontvrouw Bonny Bloomgarden, voormalig Hole drummer Patty Schlemel en haar gitaar spelende broer Larry. Patty is eruit dus Death Valley Girls gaat sindsdien als kwartet door het leven. Op hun nieuwste album ‘Island in the Sky’ klinkt de band best wel poppy. ‘What Are the Odds’ is een nummer welke geïnspireerd is door ‘Material Girl’ van Madonna.
Death Valley Girls blijven gelukkig trouw aan hun originele geluid bestaande uit rock & roll, krachtige garagerock, punk en surf inclusief galmeffecten, zoemende gitaren en ronkende orgels.

The Stone Souls
Dark country, americana, desert rock hiermee zou je The Stone Souls kunnen omschrijven. Enorm getalenteerde band valk uit de buurt Oud- Zevenaar om heel precies te zijn. Hun recentelijk uitgebrachte videoclip heeft al 55.000+ views op de teller staan en dat slechts na 3 weken tijd. Check deze videoclip hieronder. Er komt dit jaar nog een hoop meer uit van The Stone Souls een band om in de smiezen te houden!

This band has an affinity with B-movies and occult classic movies and it shows in their pychotic rock sound. Their inspiration comes from bands like Joan Jett, X Ray Spex, James Chance, The Stooges, ZZ Top and Black Sabbath.

Death Valley Girls was started in 2013 in Los Angeles by frontwoman Bonny Bloomgarden, the former Hole drummer Patty Schlemel and her guitarist brother Larry. Patty has since left the band, but the other four members carried on. Their newest album ‘Island in the sky’ sounds kind of poppy. For instance ‘What Are the Odds’ is a song inspired by Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’.
Thankfully the Death Vally Girls remain loyal to their original sound; rock and roll, powerful garagerock, punk and surf with reverbs, buzzing guitars and roaring organs.

The Stone Souls
The Stone Souls is a talented Dutch band with a sound that can be described as dark country, americana or desert rock.
Their recent videoclip (see below) got more than 55.000 views within three weeks. The Stone Souls are definitely a band to keep an eye on!
