Destructive Penguins
Met een aanstekelijke mix van hiphop en reggae willen Destructive Penguins vooral mensen verbinden. De Leidse band heeft de afgelopen zes jaar een ijzersterke live reputatie opgebouwd. Dansen, springen en zweten; het hoort er allemaal bij. De Penguins laten niemand aan het feest ontsnappen. De Painting Pictures Tour (vernoemd naar hun laatste single) brengt Destructive Penguins opnieuw naar alle vier de windstreken om met grenzeloze energie en veel liefde muzikale grenzen te doorbreken. Tight beats, melodic grooves, smooth rap flows and catchy vocals are key words when one wants to give a proper description of John Frost’s characteristics.
The passion and good vibe this band brings on stage works contagiously on everyone who takes the opportunity to attend one of their live shows.
The band is a mixture of young gifted musicians and old skool cats. Percussionist Ista and guitarist Rafael Devánte are father and son.
It shows that the shared love for making good music is timeless and from all generations.
The inspiration for their musical creations comes from their roots in Hip Hop, Soul, Jazz and Funk such as D’Angelo, J Dilla, A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots. Add a touch of Blues and Rock to complete a total description of John Frost.
