WONK UNIT

Those who are familiar with the early 90s punk rock scene in the UK have most probably seen Alex Wonk with his hardcore punk band The Flying Medaillons. After a tragic accident with fatal consequences on tour in France, the band broke up. But after that, Alex founded Wonk Unit, one of the most exciting new UK acts.

They are like a fresh breeze in punk rock: they are not typical British but rather influenced by melodic skate punk such as Millencolin, containing elements of ska. On stage Alex transforms into a steam machine celebrating a firework of energy, anger and irony. In their unique sound Wonk Unit touches the edges of their genre, yet they are most authentic and a must-see for talent scouts.

Their style of music is best expressed by a UK tour with Teenage Bottlerocket and Millencolin, giving them a high amount of popularity. Also, Wonk Fest is a settled feast in the UK punk scene: on this self-organized festival Wonk Unit plays alongside friendly and often famous UK bands – for which it is sold out year for year.

CLOWNS

Bayside suburbs in 2011 with their non-apologetic, raw and remorseless style of thrashy, old school, hardcore punk, Australia’s favourite hellraisers, Clowns, were always destined to create an air-punching, stage-diving, punk rock frenzy.

Over the last couple of years, the four piece have continued to prove why they are one of the most sought after punk bands in the World, playing hundreds of explosive, sold out, shows across the Globe, alongside punk royalty including Adolescents, Hard-Ons, Rise Against and NOFX.

Clowns have also become regulars on the International Punk Festival circuit, annihilating the stage at China’s Midi Music Festival, Chicago’s prestigious Riot Fest, The UK’s Rebellion Festival, and most recently, Fest Pod Parou in Czech Republic.

With influences that range from 70’s punk, to underground Australian rock and thrash, Clowns continue to load each sold out show with unhinged energy, chaos and unpredictable fun, leaving beer-soaked punters stoked that they left their couches.

With two full length LP’s under their belt, including 2013’s “I’m Not Right”, and the highly acclaimed LP “Bad Blood” (2015), Clowns have just released their intensely catchy new track ‘Destroy the Evidence’, cementing their cult status and putting them on high rotation on Australian radio stations and bedroom record players alike.
